Saint Kilda HBC at Australian Beach Handball Championship

Saint Kilda Handball Club will bring a team of 9 players coming from Australia, Europe and South America in the 2017 Australian Beach Handball Championship next week.

Promising exciting and attack focused acrobatic beach handball, this tournament will feature 11 teams in Men’s tournament (11 mixed teams and 7 women teams) from all over australia and New Zealand. The tournament will be held at Glenelg beach in South Australia from February 23rd to 26th.

Competing teams in Men tournament are: St Kilda, Wellington Parrots, Murrumbeena Buccaneers, Syndey Uni Sealions, SA Vikings, MHC, East Melbourne Spartans, MAROUBRA BLUEBOTTLES, Redlands Raptors, Wolves and Melbourne Knicks.

Spartans are the defending men’s Australian Beach Handball champions but Saint Kilda won the 2015 edition and wasn’t there last year.

Bringing a team essentially composed by indoor players is the challenge of Saint Kilda who spent the past 2 month training two times a week according to the weather to work on the skills required for beach handball.
